In May 2020, my wife and I were supposed to have our wedding. Due to COVID restrictions, we had to push it back twice. It was so unpredictable during that time that we just decided to have a small wedding ceremony with our family. However, you know we still had to have our celebration with our closest friends and extended family!
Finally, after 2 years and a baby boy along the way, we got to do our big celebration last October 2022. While it’s common to have the ceremony, ~wedding food~, and a bunch of photos, we tried to find ways to make this day as US as possible!
First things first, we love having a good time with friends. With that, we made sure that we prepared a great playlist of our favorite K-pop music. We even had live songs performed by some of our very best friends!
This wasn’t a traditional wedding for sure! Wifey thought of the genius idea to have a ramen bar. I am so glad it was a hit among the guests! When the alcohol started to hit, there was no better snack to have than ramen!
The Ramen Bar Set Up
For everyone wondering, this was not the main food during our wedding. When my wifey had the idea, we quickly informed our vendors about what we can do to make this possible.
We provided the venue with our favorite cup ramyeon, hot water dispenser, and wooden chopsticks. We were only assisted to make sign boards for instructions and setting up the whole thing next to the dessert bar.
And no, no toppings are included. It was a simple setup, but the guests didn’t seem to complain about that as much as the haters. Kakaka~ The sole purpose for this is to really just get the party going and at least ease the hangover~
Going Viral
At the wedding, we had a QR code that allowed guests to upload any photos or videos they may have so we can check them out. So grateful to my friend, JL Jupiter, who created the video that went viral.
Honestly, though, we didn’t expect this to blow up and resonate with so many people. We were just doing who we are, enjoying who we are, and I am just happy that people are getting inspiration left and right to make their wedding the best it’s going to be!
So for you, would you have a ramen bar or pho bar, or taco bar at your wedding? Comment below!

Hey! I saw this! Ramen is my hangover and post drinking miracle cure and I’m so excited to do this for my wedding! I have a couple logistics questions tho – like how many did you buy compared to how many guests you had? Where did you source from that seemed cost effective (I’m assuming that’s shin ramen 😉 ) Did you have to refill the hot water dispenser at any time? Thank so so much for the great inspo
